The Algo 8028 “G2” SIP Intercom is a two-component IP intercom with outdoor rated door station and separate
PoE control unit. The door station requires only a single twisted pair connection allowing use of pre-existing wiring. The remotely located control unit provides connectivity to the network and door control connections
eliminating any possibility of tampering for door access or network access.
The recently released “G2” version of the 8028 SIP Intercom adds new capabilities in addition to PoE, such as Secure SIP (TLS & SRTP) for enhanced communication security and also RESTful API for enhanced applications.
Integration with a SIP enabled cloud or premise UC platform means that the 8028 SIP Intercom can
communicate with any device, telephone or client that is part of the UC environment regardless of geographic location. Visitors press the door station call button to call one or more users who may then speak to the visitor and activate door or gate control with a remote key press. It is also possible to call the 8028 SIP Intercom to initiate a conversation and/or unlock a door or gate equipped with an electric lock mechanism.
The digital outdoor-rated door station includes a corrosion resistant faceplate, conformal coated internal
circuitry and jam-proof backlit call button for protection from weather, dust, sand and ice. The door station may be surface mounted or flush mounted into a 2 gang electrical box or surface mounted using the included
plastic bezel.
An input provided at both the door station and control unit allows connection of a door sense contact for
detecting door open position. This can be used to prevent tailgating by disabling the door release as soon
as the door opens and can also detect door jamming.
Installation and configuration are simplified by the intuitive web interface and centralised provisioning
features. Until registered with a SIP server, pressing the call button initiates the door station to speak the IP address for secure HTTPS access to the web interface.
