The Voyager VA2M is a combined alarm-to-mobile, automated SMS message and remote relay switch. Ideal for application in Lockdown Security Systems, the VA2M alarm-to-mobile device provides dual functionality from a simple SMS ‘trigger’.
How does the VA2M function?
By sending a pre-defined SMS message from any mobile phone device to the VA2M’s phone number, two separate actions can be triggered:
- Send a pre-programmed alarm message to a maximum of 5 pre-stored phone numbers (in the example system diagram shown below – a headteacher or Lockdown Manager could send a ‘LOCKDOWN PROCEDURE IN PROGRESS‘ message to 5 year heads).
- Trigger a built-in relay switch; which could either be connected directly to the school’s public address or alarm system, or via a bank
of additional switches (such as our CLB SRL-4) to simultaneously trigger any number of Lockdown System devices such as Public Address, Visual Warning Systems, Access Control Systems or CCTV and surveillance.
In effect, the VA2M allows your mobile phone to become the main trigger (‘the big orange button’) to your entire integrated lockdown system. The VA2M also features 2 switch inputs, thereby allowing the VA2M itself to automatically be triggered from a third party device, such as an alarm system or push button.
